Abstract

The Fenek monastery belongs to a group of old monasteries on the Fruška Gora Athos. The establishment of the monastery was related to the trustee’s activity of the Serbian despot Stefan Branković and his wife Angeline in the late fifteenth century. The first reliable historical sources related to the monastery originated from 1563. Throughout history, it was the guardian and keeper of various relics of the Serbian people. The property situation and the economization of the monastery were different, so that any information which would complete the picture deserved our attention. We came across two documents (the lists) on the property situation, and the incomes and expenditures of the monastery in the period 1813-1815, which we found in the Archbishop-Episcopal Archives of the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences in Sremski Karlovci (ASANUK, PMA), and has been brought in whole.
